5Keeps the dogs out of the fridge!  Sep 15, 2005
By Evelyn McHugh
We have both kids and dogs, and this works great. An adult can single handedly open the latch, but neither persistant abuse by the dogs or tugging fingers got past it in three years of use. A child-proof product that will not require the dexterity of a contortionist to use!

i finally broke down to but these wonderful locks not only are the cheap but it save hundreds in food that my children would take out of the fridge. The thing is we need to keep them out of the fridge cause it was unsafe and it works like magic.

5Safety 1st 12018 Plastic Multi Purpose Latch  Jul 03, 2008
By Kathryn E. Fox
WOW!!!! If you have kids (or anything else that gets in your fridge :D ) you need to try this. After having our third child into the fridge and even worse than the others we were desperate for a latch that worked. We had tried one that was a straight latch which proved ineffective since our door is not a straight edge to the fridge. I realized we needed a "flexible" latch but had a hard time finding one. I knew this was perfect as soon as I saw it and it is!! It goes right on in less than a minute. (Our door is very deep so we actually put it on backwards with the latch on the fridge part) It holds against everyone, including adults who forget to unlatch it. My six year old has no difficulty getting into the fridge though because it is a snap to use. I would easily recommend this to anyone.

this tired little piece of junk endured a mere 2 days versus the overwhelming might of a 2-year-old. caveat emptor.

3These were great...  Dec 04, 2011

Until my 16 month-old daughter figured out how to open them.

I had one on each drawer in my kitchen, and on my dishwasher door. They worked well for about a month and a half, until I saw my toddler run out of the kitchen holding a dirty butter knife out of the dishwasher. I grabbed it, put it away, and shut and locked the door only to watch her little fingers open the lock and open the dishwasher door again. Back to the drawing board for this Mom!
