4Good starter drafting table. Some cons however.  Feb 03, 2005
By Kerry T. Givens "One out of five doctors"
Got this as a birthday gift for a son who wants to be a cartoonist. Received the table within 5 days of order. Came in a large, flat box about 4 feet by 3 feet by 4 inches. Somewhat heavy, but I was able to move it alone. I assembled it, without assistance, with an electric screwdriver in about 30-40 minutes.

Cons: Some of the screws provided were the wrong length (too short), and as a result the vertical legs are not as rigidly stable as they should be---I will have to get longer screws to correct that. Another "con" is that the drawing platform itself came unfinished (sanded, not sealed). I expected it to have a polyurethane coat, like the rest of the table. Perhaps that is normal for a drafting table (to prevent slippage of papers on a slanted surface?), but since this table is for a child, I would have been happier if the table top was sealed for a measure of protection. Overall the fit and finish of the rest of the table is fine, and a reasonable value for the money.

5just what i wanted  Aug 13, 2011
By Stephen J. Safir "art deviant"
i love this table. the construction is very solid. i know some people have said it was hard to put together but really it only took me 30 minutes. the only thing is the table top is unfinished, not to big of a deal though. I just went down to the hardware store and bought some wood stain and polyuthane for protection. if you've never finished wood before its not that hard but theres a lot of waiting for it to dry and resanding. the whole process took a few days to finish the top. i've owned alot of art tables and this one is closest to meeting my expectations. i especially like the tilt radius, it essentially tilts to about 80 degrees giving you more of an easel surface for painting with acrylic or oils. and makes it much easier on the back when doing pencils. when doing watercolor of course it easily adjusts to a 20 or 30 degree angle. the only problem with adjustment is in the height. it really takes two people to adjust the height, however you really only need to adjust the height once, and then adjust your chair to fit the height depending on the tilt. highly recomend this table. but be careful to buy one that says with table top in title. the first one i ordered from another company through amazon marketplace didnt come with the table top, which makes it useless.

4Manufacturing defects  Jul 29, 2010
By MasonJ
So this item is described as being manufactured to the highest standards.... try maybe standards, maybe not. One major misplacement of a predrilled hole slowed down the assembly. If you have a drill, chisel, and a resolve Not to call this company, Alvin, then go ahead and buy this. Assembly is easy if you have handy-man skills and don't like poor directions. But Im sure this table will support many years of drafts. And the wood you get is Lyptus, looks just like Mahogany, but is soft like white pine. Oh, you will need a tape measurer to mount the top, but the hardware is top of the line. Its well worth the 35 minutes of frustration of poor/no directions. Yes, it is extremely stable.

4Alvin drawing table...  Feb 13, 2012
By Tom Jump
The table came fully packaged and in great shape. I ordered the unfinished top and bought some stain and stained it the color I wanted. I was glad that I did because I think the cherry finish of the legs would have been too dark for my work area. The finishing of the top was easy and the table components were simple to put together. It looks great- just like the pictures. I think it's going to work out fine. The reason I gave it a '4' is because the table-top height adjustment screw clamps and those that hold the table-top at the desired angle, loosen and need tightened on a daily basis. I am not sure why that is but it's a slight nuisance so far. I'd recommend this product to those needing a light duty table.
