5Amazon verified purchase  Apr 15, 2010
By Frances Burruss "craft nut"
I recently purchased a Mundial dressmaker shears on Amazon. I am delighted with them. I own a twenty five year old Gingher shears and like them. I have two serger and a sewing machine set up in my sewing room. I wanted shears by each machine. I purchased my second Gingher shears and did not like them. It was not the quality of my older pair. So when I seen the Mundial I desided to give them a try. They were made in Brazil where my firt Gingher shears were made. I would highly recommend Mundial shears.

2Subpar compared to Gingher  Sep 19, 2011

Compared these back to back with Gingher 8" dressmaker scissors. Gingher cut much, much smoother. Like fabric was a butter. These seemed to bind, i.e. the blades were hitting too tightly against each other, giving you sensation of metal grinding. Also these are a little bit smaller than Ginghers so they may or may not fit one better.

I am not a dressmaker. I bought them years ago for general use around the house and love them. It is on my wish list to get a second pair.

Very study, sharp scissors / shears. Been using this pair in our kitchen for several months now and it is holding its edge well. These are much better than the crappy plastic handled ones usually found in kitchen supplies.
