5Washer Pump (Also fits Maytag HAV2557AWW Washers & others)  May 26, 2011
By CK in VA "Carl"
Awful squealing and grinding sound from under the washer gave clues to a bearing going on something. Closer inspection revealed it was the original pump in our Maytag washer. But there were a few things we had to do before removing the pump... Get a wrench, small socket set, screwdrivers, a small plastic container or bucket and an old towel. You may want to vacuum behind and under the washer while you have it out :)

Turn washer off and unplug power cord from electrical outlet. Bail out any remaining water in the washer tub. Remove rear access panel. Disconnect drive belt from pump pulley. Remove screws holding in the pump. Lift pump into bucket and carefully disconnect the top drain hose from the pump - have your towel and a bucket ready to catch the water in the drain line! Now remove the side hose, and let that drain completely into the bucket. Discard old pump. Put the new pump in! Attach the screws, drain lines and drive belt, attach rear access panel, reconnect power and give it a quick-spin cycle. All this can be done in less than 30 minutes (15 if you're good).

Perfect fit, GREAT price!

5Awesome pump! Awesome price!  Dec 15, 2011
By mike4847
After doing much research to replace pump in my Maytag PAV2300AWW serial 14579517AP washer and being told by a few online appliance stores that I needed to buy a 35-6780 replacement for between $50 and $80.00. I found this one and decided to take a chance. Installed easily and machine is humming. Buy it! Will replace 35-6465 or 35-6780 pumps for less than half the cost. Pump is solid and well made.

I ordered this on a tues, got it on friday. That was standard shipping. It was a perfect match. Not exact in size/shape, but in fit and function. Got a belt to go with it. Anyone can make this repair.
