Waste of Money Aug 30, 2001
By B. Murphy Try simply not using the filters. My coffee tastes just as good without it. Maybe my water is already clean, but this seems like a ploy to make Krups customers keep paying. The price is outrageous! A little package of activated charcoal should NOT cost $5 a piece.

Krups Charcoal Filers Aug 23, 2002
I've used the Krups coffee maker with these filters in 2 different states including 5 addresses. It works great. Don't know that I would use this particular coffeemaker without the filter. I'm having difficulty obtaining replacement filters.

Krups charcoal filters Oct 26, 2001
Our first filter we tried really improved the taste. The pot itself stays cleaner longer without all the yucky dark discoloration. Living in an area that has a lot of minerals in the water we need something to filter out all the stuff in the water.

These filters are a great idea Dec 06, 2003
By Mrs. D I believe that the reason why some people are having difficulty finding these filters is because the coffe makers, Crystal arome (model #398) and Crystal arome time (model #458) have been discontinued, these filters fit those models. But as someone else has mentioned you can buy the filters on-line. Simple solution.
You can go to krups.com to find out more about the discontinued coffee makers.

Annoying filters! Jul 01, 2000
These filters are required for the Krups crystal arome coffee makers. I have to change mine (a light indicates so) every other month or so. They are very expensive, and annoying! But thanks to amazon.com now i can get them on line.
