5Your plants will love you!  Nov 13, 2006
By creativeepicure "creativeepicure"
My husband and I have been using this product for years - each year we add more indoor plants and buy more of these wonderful waterers. We leave town for up to a month, and as long as we follow the recommendations on the package for larger plants we have had great success. We normally "plug in the survival spikes" about a week in advance to make sure we have correctly set them up. Also, we use 1 gallon water jugs for the water supply. Good luck!

5Perfect for lazy people like me...  Mar 12, 2007
By S. Wong
long work days + busy social life = forgotten plants

Thank goodness for the Plantsitters or else all my plants would've been dead long ago.

I have three plants which I've set up with a plantsitter. Cutting a hole in the cap of a 1 litre plastic OJ jug, filling it with water, a spoonful of plantfood, drop the plant sitter end in, the setup lasts for ~ two weeks.

My sensitive & finicky plants are now all happy and green. Growing wonderfully.

5Works Great!  Jul 21, 2007
By Blue Horse
I was very skeptical when I ordered this product. When I received it, I was leaving the apartment the very next day for a 10 day trip. I followed the instructions and set up the Plant Sitters to take care of my hanging baskets filled with New Guinea impatiens. They require a lot of water. I had moved the baskets inside, in front of my sliding glass door, to reduce evaporation. I expected the worst but hoped for the best. When I got home, they flowers were beautiful! The Plant Sitters had done a much better job of watering than I usually do when I'm home.

5My plants did just fine while I was on vacation!  Feb 26, 2008
By James Powell
I decided to leave a review as the last person obviously never purchased this product and yet rated it low based on calling the company. It works very simply, by drawing water out of any container you decide to use, through a tiny hose that connects to the little ceramic spike that you put in the soil, and slowly keeps your plants watered while you are away. I was going on vacation for a week and bought them for my plants. I made sure they were working a full week before I left and they kept the soil nice and hydrated. When I came back from my trip my plants were healthy and looked better than when I watered them myself. Actually I continue to use them now, and just fill the water containers every two weeks or so, it makes it much easier than the daily/weekly schedule I used to have. I don't have to worry about forgetting anymore, my plants are happy! :)

4Nice!  May 21, 2009

This product is great but the instruction misses an important point. To make it work, you have to fill water not only the ceramic cone but also the attached hose. The instruction does not say anything about it. Test it before your trip at least for several days to allow you try & error.
