quality fan that works Sep 20, 2005
By L. Pentler The Lasko 3300 20 inch Wind Machine, is a great fan. I have been using them in my office, warehouse, home and in an underground parking lot at the apartment I live in (and manage), for more than a decade. Using them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they normally last 3 to 10 years each. I do wish there was a discount in shipping, when ordering in quantity.

i don't need air conditioning anymore! Jul 11, 2007
By SockMonkey I bought this fan last week to tie me over before I replace my broken air conditioner.. turns out I would quickly become a big fan of this fan and forgo the a/c replacement job. We are in the middle of an NYC heatwave right now and sleeping with this fan feels like tropical luxury - serious! It's lightweight, quiet, cool, easy to tote, tilts up or down and saves me money!

The best fan in its class !!! Apr 16, 2007
By Matthew G. Sherwin The Wind Machine fan by Lasko is exactly the way it is advertised here on [...]. It comes already assembled so setup is a breeze--just remove it from the box, set it up on a table and turn it on! The three speeds all operate relatively quietly and the fan gets the air circulating rather quickly.
The price is right for what you get: my own fan is just about two years old now and it still works strong and hard to create good air flow. The Wind Machine also cools the room down on days when you can't use an air conditioner or when you simply don't want to use one.
I recommend that the fan stand on a flat surface about three or four feet high so that the air current it creates reaches you whether you're lying down or walking around the room. It is economical in that it won't make your electric bill spike upward, too.
Overall, this is a great fan and I highly recommend it as just about the best fan out there in this size and price range. It will not disappoint you!

The Best Fan on the Market. Jan 19, 2007
By Calamity Jane Before I finally installed air conditioning, I used this fan. In fact, I had two of them and used them for several years.
This is the most powerful fan I've ever had. It doesn't rattle or clang like metal window fans. It really stirs up the air and cools the room.
The three settings - low, medium and high - are achieved by turning a huge and easy to turn knob. You can tilt the fan up or down and than lock it into position using the knobs on the side. By placing one fan upward and another downward you'll get a wonderful and refreshing cross breeze.
If you can't afford air conditioning or you live in an area that only needs a fan, you will love the WindMachine. I still use mine to dry clothes that I don't want to place in the drier. I hang them over the shower rod and turn the fans setting to high. The clothes are dry within a couple of hours.

Good, not great. Jul 21, 2011
By Gary Darrar I wanted a fan that was powerful enough for my 2 car garage on hot days. I bought the 3300 Wind Machine based on the reviews here.
I've owned a lot of fans for various locations so I know what high velocity is compared to just a regular fan. When I bought this at Walmart for $25 a few of weeks ago I thought it was a bargain but when I put it in my garage and expected a nice powerful wind, it wasn't there. It was ok but nothing that special or what I expected. Since I only paid $25 for it, I got a $25 fan but it's not worth more than that.
I was in Home Depot the other day and I saw some of their fans on display. Since their was an extension cord available I decided to test a couple. When I tested their "Workforce" 20 inch, 3 speed floor fan (Model SFC-500B )I couldn't believe this 20" metal (and well made) fan was pushing at about twice the amount of air as the Wind Machine at the price of $39.96. I did not purchase it at the time but I will before this weekend.
If you're in Home Depot, try the 20" Workforce floor fan out and you be the judge.
